Turn Your Next Vacation on a Lake, Into a Trip on an Ocean!
Tue, 2011-08-16 12:39 — TheCongerCollectionWakesurfing 101 in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Wakesurfing, a water sport similiar to wakeboarding, is where a "surfer" trails behind a boat, surfing the boat's wake without being directly attached to the boat by a rope. The wake from the boat mimics the look and feel of an actual ocean wave! After getting up on the wave, by use of a tow rope, wakesurfers drop the rope and ride the steep face below the wave's peak in a fashion reminiscent of ocean surfing. Wakesurfing is a very "low impact" watersport and is easy and fun to do with the whole family! Below are some photos of our famly of wakesurfers on the world's largest chain of lakes in Eagle River, Wisconsin. (Please note this should only be tried behind an inboard/direct drive ski boat and not with an inboard/outbord or outboard motor.)

Awesome!
You have to love watersports on the Eagle River chain! By far the cleanest, calmest water I've ever been on. Makes for a great place to learn wakesurfing.
How cool!
I had no idea you could do this?! I am definitely going to try it out the next time we are on the lake.
Safety Tip
Just as a caution to you wanting to try wakesurfing, you should only do it behind a direct drive boat, not a inboard/outboard.
